The announcement of BioWare’s closure and the cancellation of the next Mass Effect has deeply affected many players around the world. Fans of the science-fiction series are therefore doing everything they can to try to save it.
On Change.org, a petition titled [#SaveMassEffect](https://www.change.org/p/savemasseffect?utm_source=organic&utm_medium=x&utm_campaign=owned&utm_term=text-10232026& utm_content=US) has been posted online. It has garnered more than 106,000 signatures as of this writing. The goal is to force EA to resume development of the canceled title, which was reportedly to be called Mass Effect: Universe. As a second option, the American publisher is being asked to transfer the license to another studio "to keep it alive and allow it to flourish anew.”
Of course, it’s quite rare for a petition of this kind to actually reverse a major company’s decision. Still, it’s worth having.
