Epic Games is certainly making its newfound love for artificial intelligence known. The American company has announced the Epic AI MegaJam 2026, which will take place November 12–15.
Over the course of these four days, participants will have to create a playable video game by teaming up with four other people and using an unlimited number of AI agents with the Unreal Engine or the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). These tools can be freely integrated into the workflow, whether for generating assets or coding.
Winners in each category will receive cash prizes provided by Epic Games. The best project created with Unreal Engine will win $7,500 for first place, $5,000 for second, and $2,500 for third. Similar prize amounts will be awarded in the categories for Best Overall Project using UEFN and Best Student Project (Unreal Engine or UEFN). Additional categories will also be featured in the program.
While remote participation will be available, two days of in-person events will be held at Digital Jungle in San Francisco on November 14 and 15.
