GTA VI may have already surpassed 6 million in pre-orders alone

Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have yet to release any official figures regarding pre-orders for GTA VI. However, the analytics firm Sensor Tower has released a report on the subject. Keep in mind that this data has not been confirmed by the publisher.

According to the report, GTA VI had recorded 6.08 million pre-orders worldwide as of October 13, 2026. This represents net revenue of approximately $594 million. The PS5 accounts for 4.51 million units (74%), compared to 1.57 million copies on Xbox Series (26%) . Note that these figures refer solely to digital sales; physical pre-orders are not included.

In the United States, Grand Theft Auto VI far outpaces every other game released in the past six years. For example, the Rockstar title has a 148% lead over the digital pre-orders for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022). Yet the latter still ranks second. Other AAA titles such as Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo IV, and Cyberpunk 2077 are far behind.
