Thank You Bus Driver, Double Fine's latest game, hasn't even reached 100 concurrent Steam players

After regaining its independence last July following its split from Xbox, Double Fine Productions had to lay off some of its staff. However, Tim Schafer's studio quickly began production on a new indie game.
It’s called Thank You Bus Driver, a black-and-white game in which the player takes on the role of a bus driver who must drive fast and hit unruly passengers. It’s a highly original concept in the vein of what Double Fine has been doing for several years now.
Unfortunately, the game in question is a stinging failure. Released on October 14, 2026, it peaked at just 99 concurrent players on Steam. There are currently fewer than 10 people playing the game. It’s worth noting that Double Fine will also be removing Day of the Tentacle Remastered and Full Throttle Remastered from Xbox Game Pass on October 31.
