The final day of the Tokyo Game Show 2026 has been canceled due to a typhoon

The organizers of the Tokyo Game Show have had to revise the event’s schedule due to an approaching typhoon forcing their hand. The show will remain open this Sunday, September 20, though some activities may end up being canceled.

Unfortunately, since Typhoon No. 25 is expected to be quite severe, with winds reaching up to 108 km/h and gusts of up to 144 km/h, TGS 2026 will not open its doors on Monday, September 21. This was supposed to be the final day of this year’s event.

"Due to the approach of Typhoon No. 25, winds and rain are expected to intensify in the afternoon, and transportation disruptions are also a concern. Therefore, with the safety of visitors, exhibitors, and staff, as well as their safe return home, as our top priority, we have decided to cancel the event for the entire day. "

Tickets for September 21 will be fully refunded. Details will be posted on the official Tokyo Game Show website soon.
