Development of Balatro's patch 1.1 Is underway, but with no release date in sight

Back n February 2024, the world discovered a small, unassuming roguelike card game called Balatro. Upon its release, LocalThunk’s title enjoyed immense popularity and was ported to every possible platform. The latest figures indicate over 5 million copies sold.

In a message posted on Discord, the game’s developer addressed his promise regarding Update 1.1. Initially, this version was scheduled to launch in 2025 and introduce numerous new features. While development is still ongoing, LocalThunk is currently unwilling to provide a release window.

The developer apologized for this significant delay. He explained that he felt extremely burned out after the mobile version’s release in September 2024. Work is continuing, but update 1.1 won’t be arriving anytime soon. Its features haven’t been detailed either, as LocalThunk doesn’t want to make too many promises. He also reserves the right to modify the content and remove elements before launch.

From what we know so far, this update will introduce new wildcards, new mechanics, and major gameplay changes.
