The development for Riot Games' fighting game 2XKO will be permanently ceased in December 2026

After the dev team being downsized last February, 2XKO has now been almost entirely abandoned by Riot Games.

The free-to-play 2v2 fighting game will therefore cease active development as of December 2026. The studio states that it has not attracted enough players to ensure the game’s long-term viability.

It’s important to note that the servers will remain active beyond 2026 across all platforms. Between now and December, improvements, new content, and two new champions (Lux and Samira) will be introduced to 2XKO. A patch is also planned for the last month of the year.

In other good news, all champions and most cosmetic items have been unlocked for every player. Finally, purchases made through August 20, 2026, will be fully refunded.
