Apple has decided to drastically reduce production of its VR/AR headset in 2024

Last month, Apple finally lifted the veil on its mixed reality headset. A true technological marvel not suited to everyone's budget. Indeed, the device will be marketed at the quite high price of $3499.

And while said price may have dampened the spirits of many potential buyers, there are other worries on the horizon. According to the Financial Times, the American company will produce less than 400,000 models over the whole of next year, and it seems that the company had originally planned to produce a million helmets by 2024.

This is due to the highly complex assembly process and the difficulty of producing certain components (such as the micro-OLED screen). As there will be few units, we can therefore expect fairly low sales initially.
