According to insider NateTheHate, this will indeed be a "traditional" Nintendo Direct. Following its broadcast on June 9, the event is expected to be followed by a Nintendo Treehouse on June 11, offering more detailed presentations of certain games.

While Sony and Microsoft are set to make announcements this week, Nintendo will apparently be the only one of the three console makers to remain silent. Fortunately, this won't be the case for too long.
The typically well-informed insider Nash Weedle may have teased the date of the next Nintendo Direct. The event could take place on June 9, 2026, as suggested by his image of the American flag with a leaf placed on top of it. According to internet users, this would refer to the release date of Animal Crossing: New Leaf in North America. The game was launched there on June 9, 2013.
Does this also mean we might hear news about Animal Crossing on that occasion? It’s still too early to say. We don’t yet know if it will be a traditional Nintendo Direct or a Partner Showcase.
