A petition calling for Destiny 3 has already gathered over 170,000 signatures

Bungie's future remains somewhat unclear at this point. Destiny 2 will stop getting new content starting next month, and Marathon appears to be the only game currently in active development at the studio. Furthermore, Destiny 3 is still not in production due to budget constraints.

This situation clearly does not sit well with Destiny fans, who are now openly demanding this third installment. To that end, a petition has been posted on Change.org. It has been signed by more than 173,000 people as of this writing.

The goal of the petition is to "put pressure on Sony" to encourage it to greenlight the development of Destiny 3. It remains to be seen whether this initiative will be enough.
