Playground Games is still hiring for Fable, but promises the game will release this year

If all goes according to plan, Fable is set to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in the fall of 2026. The open-world RPG from Playground Games, which just released Forza Horizon 6. is highly anticipated 16 years after the third installment.

For now, the British studio is sticking to the promise it made in January, as Fable is indeed coming this year. The company reconfirmed this information in a post on LinkedIn. Hiring continues within the development team to help polish the game.

Among the available positions are a media specialist, an experienced cinematic artist, a game designer, and a producer. About ten positions will be filled in the coming days.

Let’s hope we see ** Fable** at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, which will take place on Sunday, June 7.
