Replaced Review: the cyberpunk thriller passes the test with flying colors

After years of anticipation, Replaced is finally releasing on Xbox Series X|S and PC (included in Game Pass) on April 14, 2026. It’s a narrative 2.5D cyberpunk thriller with a retro aesthetic.

The gaming press has just delivered its verdict, as Replaced boasts an 81% Metacritic average on PC based on 18 reviews. Meanwhile, its OpenCritic score stands at 78% based on a total of 28 reviews.

Replaced has been praised for its sumptuous art direction, its fast-paced adventure, and the variety of its scenarios. Unfortunately, the story is rather conventional, the gameplay could be improved, and the combat isn’t always enjoyable.
