E3 2024 and 2025 cancelled? Organizers say nothing has been decided yet
, by Thibaut
The Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 for short, seemed to be a thing of the past. Cancelled because of Covid-19 in 2020 and again in 2022, the show failed to make a comeback this year either. Blame it on the publishers and manufacturers who chose not to make an appearance.
The event may even be dead for good. In a document, the Los Angeles City Tourism Board states that both E3 2024 and E3 2025 will not take place.
In a brief statement, the ESA, which is in charge of organizing E3, declared that the fate of the 2024 edition (and beyond) has yet to be determined, with no final decision taken at this stage. The committee adds that the show could even change its format for "a platform that works for the needs of the industry" over the next few years.
