Steam may soon display the frame rate before purchasing a game

Valve appears to be working on a feature that could let Steam users know whether a game will run smoothly on their machine. This has been discovered thanks to SteamDB.
A tool called Framerate Estimator was found in the platform's files. By analyzing data from other Steam players with similar hardware setups who own the game in question, Valve will be able to estimate the frame rate even before a title is purchased.
This would prevent customers from buying a game that doesn't meet their expectations and having to request a refund afterward.
