Rec Room will shut down permanently on June 1, 2026

In June 2016, Rec Room came out on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and mobile. This free-to-play game, which bills itself as a social platform, allows players to create rooms to play experiences together. It’s also worth noting that players can enjoy all of this in virtual reality.
Unfortunately, ten years later, Rec Room is bowing out by announcing the shutdown of its servers on June 1. It will then be impossible to log in and play the game. Rec Room Studio’s online services will also be inaccessible.
Several features have already been disabled, such as creating a new account, adding a friend, or creating monetized community content. Finally, all items in the stores are marked down by 80%, and other items usually available through the Rec Room Plus subscription are now freely accessible.
