Pokémon Pokopia review: the life sim gets great marks from the press

Scheduled for March 5 exclusively on Switch 2, Pokémon Pokopia is a cozy life sim game in which we take on the role of a strange Ditto who must build a habitat for various Pokémon. It's a surprising concept for the series, but one that has clearly won over the specialist press.

Pokémon Pokopia currently has a Metacritic average of 89% with 50 reviews. It is currently the highest-rated game of 2026. On OpenCritic, the score is 88% with a total of 26 reviews.

Pokémon Pokopia has been praised for its engaging formula, similar to that of Animal Crossing, as well as for its generous content, interesting narrative, relaxing atmosphere, and co-op mode for up to four players.

As for its flaws, we can mention fairly long loading times, a lackluster soundtrack, and graphics that sometimes leave a lot to be desired.
