Bluepoint pitched a remake of Bloodborne, but it was ultimately rejected by FromSoftware

We now know more about the events leading up to the announcement of Bluepoint Games' closure. Jason Schreier, a journalist at Bloomberg, has published an article revealing several new details.
Firstly, there is the famous live service God of War game, which the studio had embarked on. The project was apparently centered on the character of Atreus, who fell into the Underworld. Players would have played as different versions or facets of the young boy who had to explore the realm of Hades. A co-op mode was also in the works.
Unfortunately, despite the help of Santa Monica Studios, production was not progressing enough and had even been stagnant for several years. Sony therefore canceled it in January 2025 and then worked closely with Bluepoint to determine their next game. The remake of Bloodborne, which had already been considered by the studio before, was back on the table. The Japanese manufacturer was apparently on board, but the idea was reportedly rejected due to a categorical refusal by FromSoftware.
Faced with this situation, Bluepoint Games had to improvise by proposing a modernized version of the remake of Shadow of the Colossus, followed by a spin-off of Ghost of Tsushima. These ideas were rejected by PlayStation. Following the announcement of God of War Trilogy Remake on February 12, seeing that they were not involved in the project, the studio's employees began to worry. The announcement of the closure came a week later.
