Castlevania: Belmont's Curse will feature several RPG elements

Konami is preparing to relaunch the Castlevania franchise with a new 2D installment designed by Evil Empire and Motion Twin. Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is expected to be released on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC later this year.

Thanks to the LinkedIn profile of a designer who took part in the development of the game, both as a writer and narrative designer at Evil Empire from January 2022 to October 2024, we can learn more about this episode. First of all, its design began at least four years ago. The artist also states in her description that she worked on creating 25 characters, focusing on their relationships, history, and personalities.

Among the interesting points, she mentions having designed interactive narrative systems that adapt to the player's choices during dialogues. In addition, main and side quests will be included.

Thus, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse could include RPG mechanics rarely seen in the history of the franchise. Of course, some of these elements may have been modified or removed during development.
