Tencent closes TiMi Studio Montreal
, by Thibaut
It took one last piece of bad news to round off a terrible week in the video game industry. The website Game File reports that TiMi Studio Montreal has closed its doors.
During its five years of existence, the Tencent-owned studio ultimately released no games. According to this information, the closure had been anticipated for several weeks. Now, a former developer has confirmed the news in a message posted on LinkedIn. Other members of the studio have also spoken out on social media.
"Today, TiMi Montreal officially closes its doors. Although we have known this was coming for some time, it doesn't make it any easier to accept.
I am truly devastated that the public will never get to see what this team was capable of producing. TiMi Montreal was made up of truly talented people, and working with them was a privilege. The level of skill and dedication of this team was something special."
