A developer has published Sony's cease-and-desist letter for his Bloodborne remake

Echoing the news about the closure of Bluepoint Games, a French independent developer named Maxime Foulquier has publicly revealed a letter sent to him by Sony.

Several months ago, this internet user was working on a remake of Bloodborne called « Bloodborne Top Down Arena ». In March 2025, the Japanese manufacturer sent him a cease and desist letter asking him to stop his work for copyright reasons.

This week, Foulquier decided to publish the letter in question on X. He explains that he kept quiet at the time, « perhaps because a real remake of Bloodborne is in development at Bluepoint for the launch of the PS6 ? ». In the end, he decided to publish the letter to express his disappointment at the demise of Bluepoint Games.

Maxime Foulquier nevertheless chose to reuse the elements created for his remake of Bloodborne to design a completely new game, inspired by the universe created by FromSoftware.
