Konami details the story and gameplay of Silent Hill: Townfall

Back in October 2022, Konami and Annapurna Interactive officially announced their partnership on a game called Silent Hill: Townfall. This entry is produced by Screen Burn (formerly known as No Code), a studio founded by developers who worked on Alien: Isolation and Red Dead Redemption 2.

In Silent Hill: Townfall, players will be immersed in the cold and isolated landscapes of Scotland in 1996. Simon Ordell is called back to the island of St. Amelia, which is shrouded in thick fog. Beneath its abandoned appearance, the town actually hides otherworldly horrors that the protagonist will have to face.

This horror adventure will be played from a first-person perspective. To face the threats, Simon will have very limited equipment, including a pocket television (called a CRTV) that allows him to detect unstable signals. Other improvised weapons such as metal pipes, wooden planks, and firearms will also be at our disposal.

The combat is described as "frantic" with a "tense" dodging system. Narrative puzzles will also feature in the game. Our hero will even be able to use hiding places to discreetly observe his surroundings.

Silent Hill: Townfall will be released in 2026 on PS5 and PC.
