This week, RGG Studio is releasing Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties. Fans have been eagerly awaiting this entry, but it hasn't been that well received by the specialist press.
During a recent livestream, director Masayoshi Yokoyama made a surprising announcement. He revealed that Yakuza Kiwami 3 is the final installment in the Kiwami series, which means that there will likely be no more remakes for the franchise in the future.
As a result, Yakuza 4, Yakuza 5, and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will likely not be updated for modern consoles.
