Hearthstone will not be coming to consoles immediately, and there are no plans for a second installment
, by Thibaut
In addition to a Cataclysm-themed expansion, Blizzard Entertainment has teased a big announcement coming soon for Hearthstone. This highly anticipated announcement will be made at BlizzCon on September 12 and 13, 2026.
Following this teaser, players inevitably began to speculate. Some even went so far as to suggest the announcement of a possible Hearthstone 2. Unfortunately, executive producer Nathan Lyons-Smith has already confirmed to Eurogamer that this will not be the case. No second installment is currently planned.
"No, this is not a Hearthstone 2. There's no whole new game that is launching as part of that. Over the years we've done mixes, new types of content, new modes and such in the game, and it will be of that familiar ilk."
The developers are still promising an announcement "in a bigger way than we would normally do." Finally, Blizzard does not plan to release Hearthstone on consoles in the near future. However, the development team has not completely ruled out the idea and wants to ensure a high-quality port above all else.
