Despite widespread criticism following its announcement at The Game Awards, Highguard is finally being released on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. The new PvP shooter from the creators of Apex Legends also received an extensive presentation to celebrate its release.
We were treated to a launch trailer, a nine-minute gameplay preview, and a developer diary. In addition, the game's YouTube channel features previews of each weapon, map, and hero currently available.
On PS5, Highguard takes up 20.13 GB of storage, compared to 21.09 GB on Xbox Series and 20.65 GB on PC. It's still too early to draw any conclusions, but the game currently has "extremely negative" reviews on Steam, with 18% positive reviews out of 2,691 published. On Valve's platform, a peak of over 97,000 simultaneous players has been recorded. This total is expected to increase rapidly.
