An analyst company believes the Switch 2 will get a price increase in 2026

Niko Partners, a market research and consumer insights firm, recently made its predictions for the current year. This relatively reliable company has made an analysis that is unlikely to please gamers.
It believes that Nintendo will increase the price of its Switch 2 in the coming months.
"The Nintendo Switch 2 is competitively priced compared to the PS5 and Xbox Series X, after the latter consoles witnessed price hikes last year.
But we believe the Switch 2 is set to follow in Sony and Microsoft’s footsteps with its own price hike driven by the impact from tariffs, increased memory costs, and broader macroeconomic conditions.
Nintendo chose to maintain its $449 entry price last year despite the introduction of tariffs impacting production in China, Japan and Vietnam. More recently, increased demand for AI data centers has pushed RAM and storage prices up."
However, rather than actually increasing the price of the machine, it is specified that Nintendo could choose to discontinue the console sold alone at $449 (€469.99) and only market bundles at $499 (€509.99).
