An Escape from Tarkov vulnerability has led to certain accounts being deleted

Escape from Tarkov came out on Steam last November, and it has been quite the bumpy ride so far. The hardcore extraction FPS has been plagued by a myriad of problems, and a new issue, which is quite important, has recently been found.

Well-known members of the gaming community have reported that accounts have been altered or even completely deleted. Some have even been able to film the malfunction live. Rumors of a possible security breach quickly spread.

It turns out that the person behind the phenomenon has provided an explanation on social media. The deletion of accounts is indeed due to the exploitation of a security breach when linking Steam accounts. Only a few players are believed to have been affected.

While Battlestate Games has not yet commented on the matter, a fix appears to have finally been applied.
