Konami could get the rights to the FIFA franchise

Since the end of its partnership with Electronic Arts in 2023, FIFA has been looking for a new publisher for future soccer simulations. Netflix is already set to do a mobile game centered around the 2026 World Cup.

According to an insider, FIFA is expected to sign a long-term agreement with Konami, which already develops eFootball (formerly PES). The official announcement could come in the near future, even before the next World Cup, which kicks off in June.

It is important to note that this partnership may not be exclusive to Konami. FIFA would therefore have the option of partnering with other publishers and studios.
