Paramount could attempt a hostile takeover bid to buy Warner Bros.

Although Netflix has announced its intention to buy Warner Bros. for nearly $83 billion, the story may not be completely over yet. The acquisition has yet to be finalized, and the film industry is concerned about such a move.

In addition, CNBC published an article stating that Paramount Skydance may not give up on the deal. Its CEO David Ellison could decide to circumvent Netflix's announcement by making a takeover bid directly to Warner Bros. shareholders. This would therefore be a hostile takeover bid. Ellison believes that his offer is more likely to be approved by the US regulatory authorities.

It is also important to note that Paramount is the only group interested in acquiring all of Warner Bros. Discovery's assets. This includes the film studios, television channels, and streaming service. Netflix, on the other hand, only wanted to buy Warner Bros. and HBO Max.
