Pocketpair doesn't rule out doing a more narrative-driven Palworld project
, by Thibaut
Next month, Palworld will celebrate its second anniversary. Pocketpair will of course be releasing updates, including the Home Sweet Home one that's scheduled for December 17, 2025.
Before the rollout of this very ambitious update, Bucky, the studio's communications director, asked the community a question on X. He asked fans what new features, big or small, they would like to see in Palworld one day. The answers were quite varied, but one caught our attention.
One user called for more narrative elements, which are currently lacking in the game. While Bucky initially stated that Palworld is primarily an open-world survival and building game, he did not dismiss the idea of adding more storytelling.
"Palworld is, ultimately, a survival crafting game. I know a lot of creature collector fans are used to story games, but Palworld was never designed to be a linear narrative game. It's open-ended on purpose.
Perhaps in future, a very story-based Palworld can be made though."
