Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment gets some rather good scores

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment will be released exclusively on Switch 2 this Thursday, 6 November 2025. Two days before this major launch, the specialist press has given its verdict on the game.

On Metacritic, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment has an average rating of 78% with 53 reviews counted to date. On OpenCritic, the score is currently 79% with 29 reviews counted.

Those who've played the game praise the extremely comprehensive roster of characters, the interesting story, the fast-paced action and the relatively smooth gameplay. When it comes toflaws, the camera is rather poorly managed and the interface is considered rather rudimentary. There may be readability issues and the crafting system ends up feeling a tad minimalist.
