CD Projekt RED and Firaxis lay off around 30 people each

Sadly, two studios have fired part of their workforce this week. Around thirty employees responsible for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game have left CD Projekt RED due to the end of the development.

At Firaxis (XCOM, Civilization), 30 employees have also been fired. Publisher 2k Games explained this decision arguing the desire to achieve a “sharpening of focus, enhancements of efficiencies, and an alignment of our talent against our highest priorities”. Take Two Interactive, the parent company of 2K Games, had already made known its desire in February to shed some of its staff in order to save $50 million.
