Pokémon Legends: Z-A sold over 5.8 million copies

The launch of Pokémon Legends: Z-A has been revolutionary for the Switch and Switch 2. Despite criticism, the game achieved impressive sales figures.

In its first week on sale, the RPG sold over 5.8 million units worldwide. One month after its release, Mario Kart World had sold 5.6 million copies. Of course, Pokémon Legends: Arceus has benefited from the fact that it was released on both Switch 2 and Switch, unlike the racing game, which is exclusive to Nintendo's latest console.

The Japanese manufacturer has nevertheless specified that the Switch 2 version of the new Pokémon accounts for almost 50% of total sales. Launched in 2022, Pokémon Legends: Arceus has sold 14.8 million copies.
