Game Freak worked on a new PS4 license that ended up being canceled

Best known for its work on the Pokémon saga since the Game Boy era, Game Freak has debuted very few IPs since then. The latest, Little Town Hero, ultimately went unnoticed and garnered no critical acclaim by critics back when it launched in 2019.

In spite of this, the Japanese studio is going to try again with Project Bloom, a brand-new franchise announced on May 9. But while we yearn to learn more about this project, an Internet user noticed a rather intriguing mention on the online CV of a certain Masafumi Nukita, who worked at Game Freak from 2012 to 2016 as a game designer.

In 2014, he also held the position of director on a new license planned for PS4. Alas, we won’t know anything more as this RPG was ultimately canceled.
