Silent Hill: Ascension, the cloud-based narrative experience, gets a new trailer
, by Thibaut
When Konami announced its many plans for the revival of its survival-horror license, there was one specific title that raised a lot of questions. Yes, we’re talking about Silent Hill: Ascension, a sort of narrative experience via cloud.
In this interactive mini-serie, it’s the community who gets to make all the decisions regarding the storyline or the fate of the characters. And while the game’s concept remains unclear for now, we can imagine that it will be inspired by The Walking Dead: Last Mile, Ascension developer Genvid Technologies previous game. The title required players to perform specific tasks by themselves (such as solving puzzles, looking after a character, etc) in order to earn points that would be spent later to vote on storyline choices.
Think of it as a series in which players take the director's seat and get to decide on some plot points. And Silent Hill: Ascension may very well draw inspiration from this system. In this new trailer, Konami lets us take a peek at some of the game’s cast and monsters. The game is expected to release later this year.
