Several former The Elder Scrolls Online devs have founded Sackbird Studios

Following Microsoft's cancellation of the MMO Project Blackbird, several devs chose to leave ZeniMax Online Studios. The company is now focusing exclusively on The Elder Scrolls Online.
These former developers have come together to form Sackbird Studios. The firm is headed by Lee Ridout, who worked for over 12 years as director of product management at ZeniMax Online Studios. Ridout issued the following statement:
"We’re grateful for our time at ZeniMax Online Studios; it shaped us as developers and as people,” said Lee Ridout, CEO at Sackbird Studios. “When I learned that Blackbird was being cancelled and a lot of people were losing their jobs, it lit a fire. We realized the best way to protect our craft—and our team—was to create a studio where creative independence isn’t negotiable."
Sackbird Studios is currently working on a completely original game that will be released on consoles and PC. More information will be shared "when the game is ready."
