The Tencent-backed Ubisoft subsidiary begins operations today as Vantage Studios

Update on October 1, 2025, at 5:10 p.m.

Ubisoft has confirmed the official launch of its subsidiary. It will indeed be called Vantage Studios.

"Vantage Studios will be responsible for the development and expansion of these brands, drawing on Ubisoft's experience and expertise, sharing services and technical resources, while giving developers more direct control over the games they create.

The goal of Vantage Studios, and future creative houses, is to facilitate stronger and deeper connections between developers and players. This simplified approach allows developers to benefit from greater autonomy and shorten the time between gathering and implementing player feedback, while benefiting from Ubisoft's expertise, services, tools, and technology."

Announced last March, Ubisoft's latest subsidiary, largely financed by Tencent starts its operations on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Charlie Guillemot, son of the French publisher's CEO, has been appointed co-CEO of this division.

Employees reportedly chose the name Vantage Studios for the famous subsidiary. It encompasses teams based in Montreal, Quebec City, Sherbrooke, Saguenay, Barcelona, and Sofia. In addition, it will manage the Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six licenses while remaining part of the Ubisoft group.

Tencent holds a 25% stake in the division and will act as an advisor. Co-CEOs Charlie Guillemot and Christophe Derennes will be in charge of creative and commercial decisions.
