The creators of Abzû unveil Sword of the Sea

Back in 2012, Matt Nava, art director of the legendary Journey, left thatgamecompany to pursue new creative endeavors via a new studio called Giant Squid. Four years later, the company launched the evocative Abzû before The Pathless in 2020.

This past PlayStation Showcase, Giant Squid came back to the spotlight with Sword of the Sea. Here, the player takes on the role of the Wraith, tasked with the mission of bringing back new life to a ruined world. Our avatar will use his sword to surf the sandy expanses and traverse long abandoned ruins and desolate battlefields filled to the brim with otherworldly creatures.

Sword of the Sea is sure to be an exhilarating tale, one soon to be released on PS5 and Steam.
