Avalanche Studios lays off staff and closes its Liverpool studio

Following the cancellation of Contraband, we knew that Avalanche Studios was sure to be in trouble. The creators of Just Cause are preparing to make significant cuts to their expenses.
The Swedish company has announced the closure of its studio in Liverpool, England. Teams in Malmö and Stockholm will also be affected by layoffs. In its statement, the company refers to the *"current challenges to our business and the industry".
Avalanche Studios nevertheless says it wants to keep delivering*"amazing games to our passionate player communities"*.
