A new Lord of the Rings game is reportedly in development

According to Insider Gaming, a new **Lord of the Ringsv game is in the works, with partial funding from the Abu Dhabi Investment Office to the tune of around $100 million. The deal, which has been under discussion since last year, could be finalized very soon.
The project is said to be a third-person action game designed to rival Hogwarts Legacy. Several key industry players are reportedly involved, including Embracer, which has held the video game rights to the license since 2022, and the studio Revenge.
Embracer and Revenge have declined to comment on the information at this time, stating that it's mere rumors and speculation.
