A report published by Nikkei claims that 51% of Japanese video game studios incorporate artificial intelligence into their pipeline.

The main uses include creating images and videos (characters, settings), generating text, and assisting with programming.

The study, conducted by CESA, also indicates that 32% of companies use AI to develop their own game engines. Capcom, Konami, Square Enix, Sega, FromSoftware, and several indie studios are among those involved.
