Accessories brand Genki will have to pay damages to Nintendo

Before the official presentation of the Switch 2, Genki, a brand specializing in the manufacture of accessories, shared 3D models of the console. This obviously did not please Nintendo, which decided to file a lawsuit last May.

Ultimately, both parts reached an agreement. Genki agreed to pay an undisclosed amount to Nintendo for damages. In addition, the accessory brand (and subsidiaries of its parent company Human Things) will no longer be able to use the logo and designs belonging to Nintendo.

It should also be noted that Genki will no longer be able to use the terms Switch, Switch 2, or Joy-Con. The manufacturer will have to clearly state that its accessories are not officially licensed. In addition, Genki will be required to abandon the names Glitch and Glitch 2 because they are considered too similar to the term Switch.

Finally, even more surprisingly, colors associated with Nintendo cannot be used in Genki's future designs. The list includes ", red and white, red and blue, green and pink, blue and yellow, purple and orange, pink and yellow, and purple and green".
