The PS6 is expected to have a detachable disc drive too
, by Thibaut
Sony has no plans to change its strategy for the PlayStation 6. Insider Gaming reports that the Japanese manufacturer will once again go for a detachable disc drive.
Like the PS5, the PS6 will be available for purchase as a digital edition on its own, with the Blu-ray drive sold separately. With the PS5, this strategy was a way for PlayStation to reduce its production and shipping costs. The Japanese company would like to maintain this policy, as it has so far achieved all of the company's internal objectives.
Of course, Sony could change its plans between now and the launch of its next console.
