Nintendo will no longer repair any 3DS model
, by Thibaut
Nintendo's repair service allows gamers to repair their devices using official parts. Of course, since older consoles are no longer manufactured, the Japanese brand stops supporting them when it runs out of parts.
In August 2024, the Japanese company ended support for the New Nintendo 3DS for this reason. The 2DS followed shortly after, leaving the New Nintendo 2DS XL as the only repairable model of the handheld console.
On September 4, 2025, Nintendo announced that the 2DS XL is officially no longer supported due to a lack of available parts. As a result, all 3DS models are now no longer repairable through the brand's service.
