The reviews say Cronos: The New Dawn has ended up being a succesful new horror IP

After the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake back in 2024, Bloober Team has gone and created a new IP. Cronos: The New Dawn will be officially released on September 5, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC. That being said, early access begins on September 3 for owners of the Deluxe Edition.

The first reviews from the specialist press are in, and at the time of writing, the OpenCritic average stands at 79% out of 52 reviews. On Metacritic, the game's score is 79% on PS5 (41 reviews) and 75% on PC (26 reviews).

Reviewers praise the game's highly successful visuals. In addition, the survival aspect is very strong, with limited resources and ever-creeping danger. The overall universe and story are also very interesting.

As for flaws, it sticks to a fairly classic horror formula, performance issues, and resource management that can sometimes be tedious due to an overly limited inventory.
