The movie Mortal Kombat II has been delayed to May 2026

Originally scheduled for release in theaters this October, the feature film Mortal Kombat II has ultimately fallen victim to a significant delay. In the United States, the movie directed by Simon McQuoid will be released on May 15, 2026.
According to Deadline, this delay was decided upon in order to give Mortal Kombat II it's time in the spotlight. After all, the end of the year is often synonymous with big releases. In addition, the Halloween period is not usually very profitable at the box office.
Furthermore, Warner Bros. also successfully launched Final Destination: Bloodlines last May. The film grossed $301 million worldwide, a record for the franchise. The American production company will try and repeat this feat with Mortal Kombat II, which will be released during the same period next year.
