You need the day one patch to play Gears of War Reloaded

Like almost all games released today, Gears of War: Reloaded will have a Day One patch when it releases on August 26. What's more, the devs have specified that this update is required in order to play.

It brings several crucial improvements in terms of stability and bug fixes. Players should see fewer crashes, especially on PC. A problem that caused a loss of fluidity when using the DualSense controller has also been fixed.

Of course, it fixes various gameplay and user interface issues. Finally, other optimizations have been made to support portable devices.
