A modder has repurposed an Anker charger to run Doom
, by Quentin
A modder has managed to run the first Doom on an Anker charger equipped with a small color screen. The device, equipped with a Synwit SWM34S SoC, 8 MB of RAM, and 16 MB of storage, has a 2.26-inch screen.
The gameplay relies on a wheel that serves as both a button and a control: rotate to turn, click to shoot or open doors, and hold the rotation to move forward or backward.
It's a very limited experience, but enough to run the 1993 classic on a device that is not designed for gaming.
