The Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater remake gets pretty good scores

Ahead of its release on August 28, 2025 for the PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater has been in hands of the gaming press already. The first reviews are in, and the ratings are quite good so far.

On Metacritic, the game currently has an average rating of 86% on PS5 (59 reviews) and 85% on PC (18 reviews). The OpenCritic score remains unchanged at 86% (37 reviews).

The reviews highlight the successful graphical overhaul thanks to Unreal Engine 5, new and enjoyable quality of life options, and the inclusion of content from all the different editions of the third installment.

As for flaws, we can note that gameplay feels quite heavy, an AI that leaves a lot to be desired, and a lack of new content.
