The director of The Last of Us Online will draw inspiration from it for his next game

Last July, Vinit Agarwal founded a brand new studio in Japan. Although not well known to the general public, this developer spent more than 10 years at Naughty Dog. Most notably, he was the director of The Last of Us Online before it was canceled in December 2023.
In an interview with Game*Spark, Agarwal looked back on his years at Naughty Dog. For example, he was behind the final battle in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and the battle between Abby and Ellie in The Last of Us Part II. Although these are single-player games, Agarwal says he wanted to give “the impression of fighting against a human player and not against AI, even in single-player mode.”
Through his independent studio, Vinit Agarwal explained that he intends to combine this cinematic approach with a multiplayer component.
"What drove me to [go independent] was largely seeing the potential of combining Naughty Dog's specialty, cinematic action, with multiplayer."
This title has been in development for several months and has already reached a playable stage.
"We can't say much at this point, but this new game is a multiplayer game, and we intend to bring the cinematic action we're known for in our previous titles to multiplayer gaming."
