Arm presents the Neural Super Sampling, its first upscaler for mobile devices

Arm has announced the Neural Super Sampling (NSS), an upscaling technology to be integrated into ARM GPUs starting in 2026.

Capable of upscaling an image from 540p to 1080p in approximately 4 ms, it reduces GPU load by up to 50% compared to native rendering. An evolution of ASR based on FSR 2.0, NSS improves sharpness, stability, and shadow and particle rendering, while using INT8 for greater efficiency.

A development kit is already available with an Unreal Engine plugin and Vulkan tools, supported by partners such as Epic Games, Tencent, and NetEase. Arm also plans to add image generation in future updates.
